Dads Christmas Egg Nog

1 pint half and half

1 pint whipping cream

½ to ¾ gal milk

1 c sugar

1 dozen eggs

2 tsp nutmeg

½ cup makers mark bourbon

Separate egg yolks from whites. Beat egg yolks well then add sugar and beat well again. Add half and half, whipping cream, 1 tsp nutmeg and milk. Beat very well, set aside.

Beat eggs white till foamy and add ¼ cup sugar then beat into peaks. Folkd into milk mixture. This is when you separate out some for the kids. Pour in makers mark. Dust on top 1 tsp nutmeg. Dad says you have to adjust the amount of sugar, nutmeg and bourgon to your own taste.

Dad’s Chocolate Bourbon Balls

1 cup chopped pecans

¾ cups bourbon

½ cup butter

2 lbs powder sugar

1 box (8 oz) melting chocolate. Toast nuts for extra flavor.  Then, soak nuts in bourbon overnight. Cream the butter with ½ cup of the powdered sugar.  Add the remaining sugar, and the nut mixture.  You may need to add a little more powder sugar. Place in refrigerator to chill slightly. Form into small balls and refrigerate fo4 1 hour till firm. Dip into melting choolate and place on a wax paper.  Will kept for 1 month.  TMakes 6 to 8 do

Cherry Delight, Two Ways

Donnas Chery Delight

1 can crushed pineapple drained

1 can cherry pie filling

1 box white cake mix

1.5 stick butter

Pecans

Layer ingredients in order listed, bake for 1 hour at 325

Jim’s Cherry Delight

1 box yellow cake mix

2 sticks butter

2 cans cherry pie filling

1 c brown sugar

Oven to 350

Spread sherries on bottom of 9 x 13 pan. Pour dry cake mix evenly on top of cherries. Sprinkle brown sugar on evenly. Dot with butter. Bake for 30 or until mixture is bubbly and cake is not a powder.
