A bit about growing up on a farm, mother who loved to cook and entertain, a grandmother who took us around the world, and another grandmother whose kitchen was the center of a large and loving family spanning five states.
These are the recipes of my family, initially mostly my mother’s and a few of mine. Eventually grandmothers’ recipes as well, Buchanan if I can (red raspberry pie!), and eventually historical ones from Indiana.
But for the next few years–maybe forever–this will simply be what the title says. A family cookbook, here for us to remember, make notes, and pass these recipes to the next generation.
Undoubtedly some of these recipes are very common, or taken from a cookbook somewhere, and handed down by postcard without attribution. When I can, I will note where a recipe originated (like the Hudson Department Store Greek Salad Dressing).
